Adoption Timeline

2012

March - Have our court date! April 13th!

May- Scott travels to Russia one final time to bring Matthew home.

May 25th - Matthew HOME!

2011

April-Decide to begin 2nd adoption. New home study begins.

July-Home Study complete and papers sent off to Russia

September-I-171H is complete

September-Referral of little boy!

October 10-First trip to Vladivostok

December - Send off Dossier to Russia

2009

01-21 We FINALLY have a court date!

01-26 We are officially the parents of Luke! YEA!

02-14 Bring Luke home!

2008

01-24 Delay in process-Krasnodar changing Education Department location...waiting, waiting, waiting!

01-30 Many documents expiring. New trips to doctor, FBI, and FedEx.

03-07 Agency required to send in documents and this holds our paperwork up. New dossiers won't be accepted until mid April. Yuck!

05-08 We finally have our first travel date!

05-23 Arrive in Krasnodar and meet our little girl!

05-29 Return home, very busy with arranging Rylie's bedroom and preparations for the 2nd trip begin.

07-08 Our agency accreditation is put on hold and this means we must WAIT for our little girl.

07-16 Paperwork needs to be updated because it has expired.

09-24 Still waiting and we have to redo the papers that we did over in July.

09-30 Switched to a new agency to try and complete our adoption. MANY new papers needed with the switch.

10-08 New home study needed - oh no!

11-02 Phone call came from our new agency and Rylie is NO longer available for adoption. What is happening to this process! Krasnodar region feels badly and asks that we fly to see a new child. We have to work fast!

11-08 Fly back to Krasnodar to meet a new child. We have to be open to different ages and to a little boy.

11-11 Meet a new little boy, hesitant to fall in love

2007

02-05 Begin adoption process

02-21 Accepted into a summer camp experience

04-14 receive photos of girl we are matched with

05-19 find out the girl can't be adopted and she's pulled from the program. Very sad news for us! We looked for another couple of weeks at other children and didn't feel like they were good matches for our family.

06-07 Decided to go with a "blind" adoption and begin new paperwork for this process.

08-07 Home study complete

10-07 Decide on Krasnodar region in Russia

10-22 Begin all new papers for Kras region

11-02 Kras changed procedures - all new papers needed, Argh!

12-09 All papers accepted! yea!
